Kirsten Foot is an Associate Professor of Communication and Adjunct Faculty in the Information School at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on the reciprocal relationship between information/communication technologies and society, and as co-director of the WebArchivist.org research group, she develops new methods and tools for studying social and political action on the Web. She is particularly interested in practice-based theories of technology and the dynamics and politics of communication and knowledge production in networked environments. She is the co-author of Web Campaigning (MIT Press, 2006), co-editor of The Internet and National Elections (Routledge, 2007), and has published articles on Web archiving, Web sphere analysis, practice-based theory, and computer-mediated communication.
