Paul Wouters is program leader of the Virtual Knowledge Studio for the Humanities and Social Sciences (VKS) in the Netherlands and professor of knowledge dynamics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has published on the history of the Science Citation Index and in the fields of information science and scientometrics. Since 1999, he has focused on the emergence of new informational practices and structures in scholarly research. He is particularly interested in the implications of digital research objects for the dynamics of knowledge generation and translation.
