Rob Procter is Professor and Research Director of the U.K. National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS), University of Manchester, responsible for coordinating and developing its research program. His research interests are focused on the 'social shaping' of e-science and e-infrastructure and, in particular, the barriers and enablers to their adoption. His broader research interests lie within the field of socio-technical issues in the design, implementation, evaluation and use of interactive computer systems, with a particular emphasis on ethnographic studies of work practices, computer-supported cooperative work and participatory design.
